Si and Dave serves up a hearty flat rib broth on the Hairy Bikers Best of British.
The Bikers says: “This is a great comfort food for the late autumn and winter months. A warming meal in a bowl, cheap to make and feeds a crowd. Serve with crusty bread and butter and a smear of English mustard on the rib.”
They also recommend to use beef brisket if you cant’ get hold of a flat rib.
The ingredients are: 2 pieces of flat rib, 1 onion chopped, 1 stick of celery chopped, 2 carrots chopped, salt and black pepper, 2 bay leaves, 3 litres, 125g yellow split peas, 124g pearl barley, 125g red lentils, 2 potatoes, 1 turnips and 1 large leek.
