John Torode and Lisa Faulkner served up a delicious Sticky Toffee Pudding with stem ginger, dates and butterscotch sauce on John and Lisa’s Christmas Kitchen.
The ingredients are: 350g pitted dates , 600ml boiling water, 2tsp bicarbonate of soda, 100g salted butter, 350g sugar + 1 tbsp for lining the bowl, 4 eggs, 350g self-raising flour + 1 tsp for lining the bowl, 2 tsp ground ginger + 1 tsp for lining the bowl and 2 tsp mixed spice and 50g stem ginger, chopped.
For the Sauce: 150g caster sugar, 50g butter, chopped into small chunks, 100ml double cream and 1 tbsp water.
