Phil Vickery served up Her Majesty the Queen’s favourite ginger loaf cake on today’s episode of This Morning.
The ingredients are: 150g salted butter, soft, 150g dark brown sugar, 2 tbsp treacle, 100ml full fat milk, 2 medium eggs, at room temperature, beaten , 2 tsp ground ginger, 1 tbsp finely grated lemon zest, 200g self raising flour and 1 level tsp baking powder.
For the sauce: 100g dark brown sugar, 2 tbsp finely chopped stem ginger, 2 tbsp syrup from the stem ginger jar and 50ml water.
