The Hairy Bikers visits Cheshire on their Food Tour of Britain and serves up a tasty blue and white Cheshire soup with fried cheese sarnies dish.
The ingredients for their dish are: 1.5 litres chicken or vegetable stock, 3 large potatoes peeled and chopped, 4 carrots, 4 leeks, trimmed, cut in half lengthways, finely sliced, plus extra to serve, 6 tbsp quick-cook oats, 400g Cheshire cheese, salt and freshly ground black pepper, For the fried cheese sarnies, 1 loaf white bread, thinly sliced into 12-16 slices 110g butter, 300g Cheshire cheese, thinly sliced into 6-8 slices, 3 tbsp olive oil and 1 small bunch watercress leaves to serve.
