Chef Noel McMeel takes on the Bikers in a cook off to see whose dish best presents the flavours of Fermanagh.
Noel McMeel worked with Paul and Jeanne Rankin at Roscoff in Belfast, before perfected his modern Irish cooking style in upmarket hotels and cookery schools, earning critical acclaim along the way. Following a scholarship at a US university, Noel worked in some of America’s most respected restaurants, including Chez Panisse in San Francisco. He is now head chef of the Lough Erne Resort in Fermanagh.
For the Hairy Bikers Food Tour of Britain challenge, Noel a cooked Lough Erne mixed grill of lamb and pork dish.
The Bikers cooked trio of brown trout with rhubarb compôte and dill sauce dish.
As always it is up to local dinners decide whose dish best represents the flavours of their region. When the verdict came in, the people of Fermanagh voted for the bikers trout dish 2 to 1 and declared it the winner.
