Marcus Wareing served up a savoury apple pie with mustard, sage and rosemary on Marcus Wareing’s Tales from a Kitchen Garden.
The ingredients are: 4 large Bramley apples, peeled, cored and sliced, 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves, 1 tsp fennel seeds, toasted and ground, 1 tsp mustard seeds, 1 tsp grain mustard, 30g butter, 350g shortcrust pastry, 1 free-range egg, beaten, 2 tsp nigella seeds, 2 tsp dried onion flakes and 1 tsp Maldon salt.
