Phil Vickery serves up a slow cooked braised stew and dumplings dish in the This Morning kitchen served with broccoli and cauliflower bake with mash potatoes on his birthday.
Phil says: “This is quite a simple dish to make for the bank holiday weekend. Use chuck steak because it contains 20% less fat.”
To make the dish Phil used: 500g chuck steak, 500ml water, 1 tsp tomato puree, fresh thyme, 2 stock cubes, pinch of sugar, pinch of salt and pepper, 1 carrot, 1 onion and garlic.
However, Phil’s dish was surpassed by his birthday cake made by Rylan Clark (allegedly).
