Mary Berry treacle tart with woven lattice top on The Great British Bake-off

Mary Berry challenges the bakers on the Great British Bake Off to bake a treacle tart with woven lattice top to her own recipe.

Mary says about her tart: “Treacle tart is made with golden syrup, breadcrumbs and lemon to cut through the sweetness. Serve with crème fraiche.”

The ingredients for the tart are: 250g plain flour, 130g butter, plus extra for greasing, 400g golden syrup, 150g fine fresh white breadcrumbs, 2 lemons, zest and juice, 1 free-range egg, beaten, to use as egg wash.
