Racing Drive Mark Webber visits Saturday Kitchen Live to face food heaven or food hell. On offer are carrot cake with candied carrots for food heaven or fish, chips, mushy peas and tartare sauce as food hell served up by James Martin.
James says about his fish and chips dish: “my own version of traditional fish and chips with crisp beer batter and all the trimmings. Beats a takeaway any day.”
For his carrot cake James used the following incridents: 175g soft dark brown sugar, 2 large free-range eggs, 150ml olive oil, 200g wholemeal self-raising flour, 1 tbsp ground mixed spice, 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda, 200g carrots, 80g pecan nuts, 1 lemon, zest only, 110g sultanas, 25g/1oz raisins, 50g desiccated coconut, 250g crème fraîche or mascarpone, 250ml double cream, 2 tbsp icing sugar, For the sugared carrots, 300g baby carrots, pinch salt, 70g caster sugar, 50g butter.
After the public vote, it was decided that Mark should face food heaven and have a carrot cake baked for him by James Martin.
