Lisa Faulkner mince pies with Amaretto butter and grand’s mincemeat recipe on John and Lisa’s Christmas Kitchen

Lisa Faulkner and John Torode served up delicious mince pies with Amaretto butter and Lisa’s grandmother’s mincemeat recipe on John and Lisa’s Christmas Kitchen.

The ingredients are: 1lb currants, 1lb sultanas, 1lb raisins, 1lb brown sugar, 1lb shredded suet, 1lb cooking apples, peeled and grated, 2-3 tbsp amaretto, 1 tsp mixed spice, ½ tsp cinnamon and Ready rolled shortcrust pastry, for making mince pies.

For the pastry: 375g plain flour, plus extra for dusting, 125g cold lard, cubed, 50g cold margarine, cubed and Pinch of salt.

For the amaretto butter: 175g light brown sugar, 175g butter, room temperature and 6 tbsp amaretto.
