James Martin makes some yummy marshmallows in his kitchen at home in today’s episode of his new weekday cooking show, James Martin: Home Comforts.
The Saturday Kitchen host says: “Marshmallows are really simple to make, they are just Italian meringues with gelatine.”
To make the sweets he says: “You will need a sugar thermometer and a spotlessly clean bowl to whisk the egg whites, and then you’re just a few steps away from bouncy irresistible marshmallows, served here with chocolate sauce.”
To begin is dish, James used nine leafs of gelatine that he soaks in 140ml cold water for ten minutes.
The ingredients are: 9 sheets sheets leaf gelatine, 450 g sugar, 1 tbsp liquid glucose, 200 ml water, 2 large egg whites, 1 tsp vanilla extract, icing sugar, cornflour and strawberries, to serve.
