Paul Ainsworth served up tasty croissant bread sauce with with cloves and onions and brown butter on The Best Christmas Food Ever.
The ingredients are: 700ml full-fat milk, few sprigs thyme, 1 onion, peeled, 4 cloves, 2 bay leaves, freshly grated nutmeg, 6 croissants (leftover slightly stale croissants work well), 100g butter, 100ml double cream, 1 tsp lemon juice, salt and cracked black pepper.
