James Martin beef and ale pie with onions recipe on Saturday Mornings with James Martin

James Martin and Brian Turner served up a tasty beef and ale pie with beer braised onion petals on Saturday Mornings with James Martin.

The ingredients are: 25ml olive oil, 1.5k shin beef, diced, 25g plain flour, salt and pepper, 2 onions, peeled and diced, 500ml ale, 500ml beef stock, 1 bouquet garni, 300g puff pastry and 1 egg yolk.

To serve: 3 onions, peeled and 250ml beer.
