Angel’s Share bakery afternoon team and hazelnut meringue gateau wins North of England and Scotland final on Britain’s Best Bakery

It’s the North of England and Scotland final on Britain’s Best Bakery and the four bakeries that made it through to this round – The Pudding Room, Blair Athol Watermill, Angel’s Share and Sweethearts bakery – were put to the test once again by judges Mich Turner and Peter Sidwell to see who will go on to the national finals.

The first test for the bakers is the Afternoon Tea challenge. They had to prepare 5 items consisting of sweet and savoury bakes that must all be baked to perfection to satisfy the judges.

The second task for the bakers is the Judges Choice Cake challenge. All the bakeries are given the same ingredients and must bake a layered hazelnut meringue gateau with hazelnut praline.

After a tense day in the Kitchen it was the Angel’s Share bakery that came out on top with their wonderful bakes by that won them a place in the national finals.
