Richard, Solomon, Lewis, Kelly, Jamie, Maria, Tariq and Leanne showcased their recipes on the first episode of Masterchef 2017.

The eight amateur cooks try to impress judges Greg Wallace and John Torode with their recipes and cooking skills in the Masterchef kitchen.

This year sees the introduction of the all new MasterChef market, which is stocked full of amazing produce from all around the world as well as a selection of meat and fish. The first challenge they faced was to invent and cook one dish using what’s available in the market. On offer were pork mince, chicken breast and pancetta as well as halibut and mussels.
