Stephen McLaughlin on The Voice 2015 singing Piece of My Heart by Janis Joplin

16-year-old Scottish singer Stephen McLaughlin set out to impress on The Voice 2015 blind auditions singing Piece of My Heart by Janis Joplin.

Before he performed his proud mum said: “Stephen’s singing has moved me to tears. Sometimes I forget how good he is. This is the opportunity for his voice to shine.”

However, after his performance there were regrets by at least one judge for not tuurning around. Ricky Wilson told him:

“It was extraordinary and I have loads of excuses in my mind but I am not going to use any of them. People on Twitter are going to be going mad. We are the idiots and you are the superstar.”
