Solomon Akhtar’s Dare To Dine Youtube funny food channel went up against Fat Daddy Fitness Hell channel on The Apprentice 2014 and won.
The Apprentice 2014 contestants launch YouTube channels on tonight’s show to see who would get the most views.
The two teams were summoned to the Victorian music hall by Lord Sugar for details of their latest task to create a new YouTube channel that they had pitch for promotion in order to get hits.
Solomon Akhtar team opted for a channel of culinary chaos utilising the comic talents of James Hill, but Nick Hewer was not impressed saying:
“James was picked as one of the presenters as he can act the idiot. Was it meant to be funny? Absolutely. But would anybody else think it were funny?” Lord Sugar’s long term aide remarks from the side lines.
The others settle for fitness, with Felipe’s pitching: “I’ve got an idea: Daddy Fit in a Week. I think that we have two strengths in this team, in that we have a fantastic fitness instructor [Katie], and you have a ‘fat daddy’ [himself] who has always wanted to look better.
“I wouldn’t have to act, I would just have to be me.”
But Karren Brady comments after seeing the group’s video: “They had a really clear vision this morning, Felipe’s the ‘fat daddy, look at me I can’t get fit’. It would be funny, it would be entertaining, it would be informative. But it actually feels quite cruel watching it, I think they’ve really missed the mark on this one.”
Videos completed, the teams join forces with existing YouTube stars, grilling famous cooks and tackling teenage heart-throbs in the hope of hiking up their hits.
In the boardroom it was Dare To Dine that got the most hits and led Solomon Akhtar to his first victory as PM on The Apprentice.
