Closing The Voice UK fourth audition show tonight is Rachael O’Connor, a teenager from Norther Ireland who’s “let down” her family by wanting to sing rather than play rugby.
The 16-year-old credits her granddad as an inspiration for singing before going on stage to perform Clown by Emeli Sande.
O’Connor told The Sun this week that she sees a lot of parallels between herself and coach Kylie Minogue.
She’s the same age the Australian star was when she recorded her first demo and she’d love to pursue an acting career too.
Rachael said: “Kylie is an idol – she’s been through everything. I think it’s really cool that she started at my age.
