When Simon Cowell hired Little Britain’s funny man David Walliams to be a judge on Britain’s Got Talent, he perhaps did not quite appreciated just what he was letting himself in for.
Since the 2013 series of Britain’s Got Talent aired on our screens early this year, new judge David Williams – who has made a career out of making people laugh – brought much of his comic genius with him into his judging role on the hit ITV show and has contributed to the current series being of the funniest we have ever seen.
However, most of his jokes has been levelled at his boss Simon Cowell and although the two men are reportedly the best of friends, rumours have started to circulate that Cowell has become tired of being the butt of Walliams ‘smutty’ gay jokes and is planning to axe the Little Britain star very soon.
In one of his recent gags, Walliams – live on air – said he wanted to visit Cowells home so that he could see his privates.
Cowell confirmed last week that he’d be making an announcement about next year’s panel during the final on Saturday.
“Actually, I wasn’t going to say this, but we are going to make an announcement about the judges on Saturday’s show next week,” he told Stephen Mulhern on More Talent. “I thought we’d do it live. It’s not a wind-up.”
And sources claim that David’s position on the show is in doubt after going over the top with the gay jibes at Simon’s expense.
A source told the Daily Star today: “Simon was in a bad mood. We expected David back next year. Now who knows?”
