Britain's Got Talent Finals

Spellbound Winners Of Britain’s Got Talent 2010

Bookies favourite, artistic acrobatics gymnasts Spellbound, romped home to victory on Saturday night, after delivering a spectacular performance in the finals of Britain’s Got Talent.

Spellbound Birtains Got Talent

Spellbound, made up of 13 members of Ashford’s Spelthorne Gymnastics club, are aged between 12-24, and come from Staines, Ashford, Stanwell, Shepperton, Egham, and Molesey. Their reward for winning is the opportunity to perform at the Royal variety performance in front of the queen and a £100,000 prise.

On the night Spellbound took to the stage energetically in black PVC costumes and had been spray-painted gold to perform in front of a TV audience of an estimated 19 million.
The act dazzled viewers with incredible feats of balance and strength, at one point two of the younger gymnasts were used as skipping rope, and one member was propelled 20 feet into the air over the judge’s heads.

The gymnasts made a huge impression on the judging panel, they were the only act in the final to receive a standing ovation from all three, Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan.
College student Edward Upcott, 18, said: Wow. “Getting the Queen to watch us… that will be a great experience.
This is unbelievable, thank you to everyone out there, this just goes to show our hard work paid off.”

The group is reported to train five evenings and two mornings a week before they go to school or work, and throughout the competition they had to stick to a strict training regime, in order to come up with new routines to keep impressing the judges.

Judges Comments:

Piers Morgan: “Well, when we don’t think you can’t top what you’ve done before, and you lob each other over the judges’ desk. What can I say about you that hasn’t already been said by the three of us, other than: the purpose of this show is to identity hidden Great British talent to grace the world and the royal family. To go around the world as a flag bearer for this country. You are that act.”

Amanda Holden: “I’m literally running out of adjectives to describe you. You are so professional and so slick and disciplined. We are hosting the 2012 Olympics and what a great opening act.”

Simon Cowell: “That’s exactly what I was thinking. Putting it into Olympic terms, I mean that would’ve won the gold medal. Honestly, that was one of the most astonishing things I’ve ever seen.”
