Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden as finally let her feelings known to all those users on the popular website MumsNet.com who slammed her after returning to work three weeks after giving birth.
The 42-year-old, who reportedly described the past three years as the most “horrifically challenging” of her life, says she was shocked to read online comments chastising her for returning to work after nearly dying in childbirth.
In 2010, Amanda suffered a miscarriage and in 2011 she went through the ordeal of miscarrying a son when she was seven months pregnant.
However, last year the Britain Got Talent star gave birth to baby Hollie Rose and since then all seem to be going will with mother and baby.
Hitting out at Mumsnet Amanda said she believes that women should be more supportive of each other, especially fellow mothers.
“It might seem a bit controversial but all I saw on Mumsnet was negativity.
“I expected it to be a website where women were embracing each other.
“Actually, it’s a lot of women criticising, judging and having a go at each other.”
She added: “We need something that gives support instead of making women who aren’t able to breastfeed feel bad, or condemning women for going back to work.”
Amanda will be seen this weekend on ITV as Britain’s Got Talent return to our screens for the 2013 series.
