Boy Band Connected managed to secured the forth spot in this year’s Britain’s Got Talent Finals following their rendition of last year American Idol winner Kris Allen’s debut single ‘No Boundaries’.
It seems that the boys took Simon’s advice following their auditions. They’ve been completely restyled in jeans, boots, T-shirts and beads. They chose a current song and although some of the solos were off key, their harmonies were fantastic.
Connected, which is made up of two brothers, twins and another friend, were initially criticised by Cowell for letting their mothers organise them.
Judges Comments:
Piers Morgan: “I saw something in the first audition that reminded me of a young Take That and the way you have come on since then is amazing. It wasn’t perfect, but when you come together something magical happens.”
Simon Cowell: When the boys first auditioned Cowell also said they were “15 years out of date” but following their semi-finals performance he said the band were completely different from their first audition.
“This is chalk and cheese compared to what I saw before,” he said.
“I know how hard it is to sing live on one of these shows. You have got a real shot now.”
Amanda Holden: “In the audition Simon kept saying he was worried you were covering the past. I honestly think you are showing us the future this evening. “
On the night animal act Tina and Chandi won the public vote whilst Connected won the judges vote over singer Neil Fullard.
Piers voted for Connected, saying he was voting for the act that had the best chance of winning. Amanda voted for Neil Fullard without giving a reason, after saying how hard it was to make a choice between the two acts.
With the casting vote, Simon voted for Connected, saying he would’ve loved to see both acts in the final and could make an argument for both acts to go through.
