Tobias mead secured the second spot on this Saturday’s Britain’s Got Talent finals when all three judges voted him through over 14-year-old singer Olivia Archibold.
The two contestants received the second highest public votes in the first semi final that was won by the brilliant Spellbound acrobatic gymnastics act.
Tobias delivered an amazing display of creative and innovative dance moves that left the judges wholly impressed.
Judges Comments:
Piers Morgan said: “one of the most creative and inspired dance routines we’ve seen on the show”.
Amanda Holden added: “Absolutely brilliant, innovative, clever, keeping those brilliant fluid movements. I would have liked to have seen more on the pole, apart from that it was fabulous.”
Simon Cowell said: “It was really, really smart. You know we have a lot of groups on here, but what you did on your own was really creative, I thought it was outstanding.”
However, it would appear that not everyone was as impressed with his performances as the judges. Stephen Mulhern – host of ITV 2 Britain’s Got More Talent show – suggested that Tobias was lucky to go through.
However, speaking on the ITV This Morning program, Mulhern suggested that Tobias Mead had lost some support by straying too far from what viewers saw in his original audition.
The talent show host commented: “I think he was a bit lucky last night, to be honest. He was known for what he did at the audition process. He was very original at that time. On the ITV2 show we had some phone calls and it was interesting that people wanted to see that again.”
But Mulhern, a performer himself, conceded that it can be difficult for contestants to know what approach to take in the live shows because the judges often encourage acts to try something new.
He said: “It is a fine line. But when you do something that is so unique, I think you can build on that.”
