Britain’s Got Talent and the X Factor are still two of the biggest shows on British television, but despite the shows continued popularity, BAFTA have given them the cold shoulder this year.
It’s the first time that the shows have not been nominated since 2007.
“This is a very big blow for Simon,” a source told The Sun. “The Baftas are the most prestigious awards in Britain and Britain’s Got Talent and X Factor are two of the biggest shows on telly.
“It’s also a blow for the new panel.
“If they’re not going to win awards, they need to start winning ratings wars. Immediately.”
This year Harry Hill’s TV Burp, Derren Brown: The Experiments, Michael McIntyre’s Christmas Comedy Roadshow and ITV2’s Celebrity Juice will fight for the gong.
The awards ceremony will take place on May 27.
