24-year-old singer Jai McDowall has been crowned the winner of Britain’s Got Talent 2011, beating bookies favourite Ronan Parke who finished in second place.
The singer, who performed “To Where You Are” on tonight’s show, topped the public vote and will go on to perform for the Queen at this year’s Royal variety show.
Jai will also headline the Britain’s Got Talent 2011 live tour and lets not forget he also pockets the £100,000 prize.
After being announced the winner Jai told hosts Ant and Dec: “I feel absolutely amazing, fantastic, this so much more than a dream.”
Runner-up Ronan Parke said: “I’ve loved it! I just want to say thanks to everyone who votes, thanks so much.”
He added: “Congratulations Jai!”
Amanda Holden however wasn’t too happy with the result, saying: “I really wanted Ronan Parke to win, but I don’t want to take away from Jai’s special night.”
Simon Cowell added: “It was clear a singer was going to win, I’m not surprised he won. The final performance he just gave after he won… it was stunning.”
