Jai McDowall raised his game in tonight’s final with a power rendition of Josh Groban’s hit song “To Where You Are.”
The 24 year old Scottish support worker wowed the judges in the previous round with his rendition of Evanescence’s “Bring Me To Life.” But he was even more impressive; it felt as though he brought the West End to Britain’s Got Talent.
This is what the judges made of him tonight:
Simon Cowell: “Jai this was you at your best. I love that song, I loved the staging, the choir, the drama and let’s remember the winner of this show will get 100 grand and for the first time, I saw you come out on stage believing that you could win.”
Amanda Holden: “Another very powerful performance. You did a lot tonight, I think you could be the dark horse of the competition.”
Michael McIntyre: “Jai, I love your voice, your passion. You do seem very stressed, when Simon mentioned £100,000 you almost keeled. I’m sure the whole of Scotland will be voting for you tonight.”
David Hasselhoff: “Jai you sang beautifully man,. You come across as such a kind, humble cool guy and you ding with your heart. I love the choir, it looked like half of Scotland was here.”
