The X Factor met Britain’s Got Talent tonight when the 2008 X Factor runner-up JLS performed with BGT 2009 winner Diversity. The two groups wowed with an impressive display of music, song and dance in a surprise double act on the results show tonight.
Whoever came up with the idea is a genius. This is not a combination that most people would expect to see and on paper it should not have worked, but worked it did.
However, although we were impressed with their performance, we can’t help but wonder if Diversity had to tone down their usual ultra brilliant standards when JLS appeared on stage. After all, JLS are good singers and a really good group, but tonight it looked as thought one of their members was auditioning to join Diversity – Aston.
With his flips and tricks, that were wholly entertaining, he looked quite at home with the Britain’s Got Talent super street dance crew. Perhaps Aston might be thinking of spreading his wings. That aside, JLS left us might impress with their dancing.
Overall the production proved to be a roaring success with the audience, with host Ant commenting: “That was one of the best performances I’ve seen on Britain’s Got Talent.”
“You know what’s really great is that you guys are living proof that this show and other shows like it can change your life.”
