Liam McNally, a fourteen year old school boy has been tipped as a contender to win Britain’s Got Talent 2010 after impressing the judges with his spine-tingling rendition of the song Danny Boy.
The teenager told Ant & Dec that he has never had any formal vocal training and normally just sings at home. He added:
“I’ve always wanted to sing on the Royal Variety Performance, when my Mum/Dad tell me I’m a good singer it’s good, but if the judges were to say it, it would make me believe my dream.”
“When he sings it makes me so proud, very proud, I don’t think you can get prouder,” his dad said.
His mum added: “The first time I heard Liam sing, I just wondered where he got his voice from as it wasn’t from me or his Dad.”
Judges Comments:
Simon Cowell: Well Neil I wouldn’t call you a good singer…..(dramatic pause)…… I would call you a fantastic singer! When you sing you have fire in your eyes, you have emotion. You have a real warmth when you perform…it’s believable.
Piers Morgan: You’ve had no proper training……you’ve just sang in your room. It’s probably too early to say this but you’re a proper contender to win Britain’s Got Talent!
Amanda Holden: You’re mum and Dad must be so proud!
While putting Liam through to the next round, Simon Cowell admitted he was concerned his outstanding voice could break at any moment and told him to make the most of this opportunity while he could.
