I wonder how many people sitting at home watching Britain’s Got Talent make a judgement on whether an act is going to be good or bad the minute they appear on screen and engage in a conversation with Ant and Dec. Well, as it happens, I do it all the time, and yes, just like many of you; I was caught out by Susan Boyle last year.
This year if ever an act was meant to be rubbish, it had got to be the Michael Jackson father and son act. But just like Susan Boyle last year, these two left me speechless.
The father and son duo from Hounslow, who have 38 years of dance experience between them, performed a great routine along to Miahael Jackson’s hit single ‘Another Part of Me’ that impressed the judges and studio audience alike.
“We’re Michael Jackson dancers, we’re father and son, that’s the act,” Michael Senior told Ant & Dec backstage before the audition.
“To be honest, The King of Pop Michael Jackson brings me and my son together, when we’re dancing together it looks really really amazing, it’s like I’m seeing my own talent again, two talents coming together, its means very much to me,” Michael Jackson Snr continued.
“We’ve been dancing for 18 years and he’s been dancing for 10 years, he’s 14 now.”
“We practice, practice, practice, when we go out on stage we’re going to smash the place and blow everyone away” said ‘Michael Jackson Jnr’.
The pair then wondered onto the stage to face the judges and 2,000-strong audience. “We really want to perform for The Royal Family and the UK public, it means everything to us, the whole world to us,” Michael Jackson Snr told Simon Cowell.
