If a couple of bell ringers walked into a room it would send a lot of people running for the hills. However, Gay and Alan Cooper changed the mind set of many with a simply inspiring rendition of the theme tune from Titanic playing their hand held bells.
When the couple took to the stage the judges Amanda Holden, David Hasslehoff and Michael McIntyre looked bemused and slightly weary, especially when they found out the Coopers met at a Recorder class, however when the husband and wife duo began to play, the judges was visibly impressed; the audience even began to sing alone to the along.
After the performance Michael said:
“I loved it and what came through so much was your character, your relationship and your fantastic rendition of the nation’s favourite song. You found each other and your love of music has united you. I loved it!”
Amanda Holden added:
“I have to say, I found that very touching. I thought it was beautifully done.”
The Hoff concluded:
“That was absolutely breathtaking!”
Three yeses from the judges and the Coopers made it through to the next round.
