After a whirlwind 2009 and fresh from performing for the Pope, Susan Boyle follows her incredibly successful debut album ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ with ‘The Gift’.

Produced by Steve Mac – who worked with Westlife, JLS and Leona Lewis among others – the album sees Boyle once again deliver a selection of perfectly produced songs that goes down well at Christmas.

None of the tracks affect you like ‘I Dream A Dream’ but I guess that was to be expected – it is hard to improve on perfection.

However, the album contain some notable tracks including her unique re-workings of Lou Reed’s ‘Perfect Day’, Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’ and Crowded House’s ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’.
