In 2009 Britian’s Got Talent discovered Scottish singer Susan Boyle who went on to take the world by storm. In 2010 yet another hidden gem from the Scottish countryside is well on her way to becoming a viral sensation.
Granny Janey Cutler from Wishaw, Lanarkshire, has impressed the Britain’s Got Talent judges and maybe the whole country with her gutsy rendition of Edith Piaf’s No Regrets.
80-year-old great grandmother Janey Cutler has 7 children, 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was so frail that she had to be walked out onto the stage by the show’s co-host Ant McPartlin. But as fragile as her legs may have been, she had no problems blasting out a rousing version of the Edith Piaf song.
Mrs Cutler, who regularly sings karaoke in her local pub, was reluctant to try out for the show, fearing she was too old. However, a close friend persuaded her to enter the competition; it could turnout to be the best advice she has ever had.
Following her performance, the retired cleaner won herself a standing ovation from both audience and judging panel.
Go Granny, go all the way! You Can do it!
