Two celebrities were voted off Strictly Come Dancing this evening as Holly Valance and Alex Jones were both eliminated after last night’s semi-final performances.

It means that Jason Donovan, Chelsee Healey and Harry Judd will go on to compete in next weekend’s Blackpool Tower ballroom final.

Speaking after her exit, Alex said:

” I’ve had an incredible time, when I’m gold and grey I’ll look back on these few months and think what a brilliant time it has been. It’s been fantastic, it’s just been an incredible experience. James has been brilliant, we’re always laughing… 80% of the time, apart from when I get my left and rights wrong.”

Alex’s professional partner James added: “If there was a trophy for most improved dancer it would surely go to Alex. Whoever gets to work with her dance in future is very lucky.”

Meanwhile, Holly told host Tess Daly: “The British public have been incredible, this is much further than we could have imagined. The show will end but all my new friendships will keep going.”
