Cheryl Cole has finally landed the job as a judge on the US version of The X Factor.
After months of speculation she was today confirmed to appear in the show – which could potentially make her a huge star in America.
The 27-year-old singer who has been a judge on the ITV X Factor show for the past three years, will take her place alongside Simon Cowell and former record boss LA Reid.
“I can’t wait to get started,” said Cole today.
Cowell has long championed her as a potential panellist for the show which he is launching in the US later this year. But it could be a big gamble as Cheryl is still relatively unknown in the USA.
In an interview last week Cowell said that bosses at TV network Fox had been impressed by her in the early stages of negotiations to launch a version of the show across the Atlantic. But will the American public warm to her?
