Tamal’s honey and grapefruit polenta cake, Mat’s sugar free carrot cake and Alvin’s pineapple upside down cake impressed on The Great British Bake Off Alternative Ingredients week.
For the signature challenge the bakers were asked to bake a sugar free cake of their choice to impress Paul and Mary.
Tamal’s honey and grapefruit polenta cake was sweetened with honey, grapefruit and honey syrup, Mat’s sugar free carrot cake contained raisins, ginger and orange zest to give it flavour while Alvin’s pineapple upside down cake was sweetened with pineapple and agave nectar.
