Cher Lloyd was mobbed by screaming fans when she returned to her hometown of Malvern yesterday.
The 17-year-old, spent some time at her old school before playing to a sell out crowd at the town’s Three Counties Showground.
Fans braved the freezing temperatures to meet Cher as she travelled to her old school, Somers Park Primary. Headteacher Stuart Sewell told the local newspaper:
“You could always find Cher singing around school. She was a very gifted young girl, and it was always her dream to be on X Factor.
“The last thing I said to Cher’s mother in the playground before she left the school was, ‘Next time I see you, it’ll be on the X Factor’”
The first 900 tickets to see Cher at her homecoming gig last night had sold out within just 20 minutes on Monday, with a further 500 tickets being given away yesterday causing queues in the town centre. Tourist information officer Anne Rich said:
“The queue of people was extensive. It’s tremendous for the town. We are all very excited and backing Cher all the way to win.”
Later in the day Cher performed a gig in Malvern that included a few songs performed on the X Factor including ‘Turn My Swag On’. During the performance she invited her mentor Cheryl Cole to dance with her on stage, check out the video below:
