Justin Bieber made his first appearance on the X Factor stage on Sunday night and insisted that he is not intimidated by performing in front of Simon Cowell.

The 16-year-old star, who played a mash-up of ‘Somebody To Love’ and ‘Baby’ on last night’s X Factor, said that he finds the X Factor judge amusing rather than scary.

Speaking on The Xtra Factor about singing in front of the X Factor judges, he said: “Cheryl Cole is beautiful and I’ve watched Simon Cowell a lot on American Idol. I met him on that show… I don’t think he’s intimidating. I think he’s funny.”

Bieber also claimed that he believes that his “X Factor” as an artist is the fact that he is down-to-earth.

“I think it is just basically that I am relatable to other people my age,” he said. “They are able to see themselves in me because I’m a relatable person.”
