The X Factor 2010: Cher Lloyd Back to Form Sailing Through To The Semi Finals

Cher LloydCher Lloyd and her mentor Cheryl Cole rediscovered the winning formulae once again in how to get Cher back on track with her fans.

Last week Cher found herself in the bottom two and  said “it felt like crap”. So for rock week it was out with the soft vulnerable girly side of her and back in with rapping, swagger and attitude. She once again rediscovered who she really is  and portrayed it in her two songs on Saturday night: Walk This Way by Aerosmith and Girlfriend by Avril Lavigne.

This is what the judges had to say about her performances:

Louis Walsh: Cher that’s been two brilliant performances, I think because you were at the bottom two last week, you’ve come back fighting. You’ve no fear. I loved the whole performance it was brilliant. I didn’t think it would work….it did!

Dannii Minogue: Cher there’s nobody that performs like you do. You absolutely go for it every week, I think you should have pulled back in the verses because it felt like it was swallowing you up. It wasn’t your performance; I think it was the track.

Cheryl Cole: We have never seen anybody like you on the X Factor before. So no you won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but you’re my cup of tea with two sugars in it. You are absolutely dreamy and I believe in you, I believe in your future and I believe in you as a credible artists when this show is over.

Simon Cowell: I completely disagree with what Dannii just said. I think you have had a fantastic night tonight, most of all you’ve come back and reminded us that this isn’t a karaoke competition. This is about giving somebody like you a chance. Somebody who’s talented, who really wants this, who hasn’t played it safe.

Louis Walsh: Cher we definitely made the right decision saving you last week. I loved the brilliant brilliant production, I loved what Brian Friedman did. You’re becoming like your mentor, you’re a right little diva in the making.

Dannii Minogue: Cher, it’s easy to take people away with the big ballads and you’ve done that but this was my favourite performance of yours. It was so complex and so on the beat it was unreal. I want to go to your concert.

Cheryl Cole: You absolutely smashed it! We’re back!

Simon Cowell: From the disaster last week to undoubtedly your best performance so far. You know what I loved about that it didn’t sound karaoke, you put your own stamp on it. This is exactly the kind of record you should make., You bounced back, you’re only 17 years old and that was by any standards, on the money.
