Ching He Huang serves up tasty mini umami chicken and shiitake mushroom pies for the perfect party food on Food and Drink with Tom Kerridge.
Ching says: “These mini pies are an Asian take on the classic chicken and mushrooms pies. Perfect for impressing friends at a party.”
The ingredients are: 300g chicken breasts, 1 tbsp rapeseed oil,½ onion, diced, 50g frozen peas, 6 fresh shiitake mushrooms, diced, 1 tbsp Shaoxing rice wine, ½ tsp Chinese five-spice powder, 150ml chicken stock, 150ml double cream, 1 tbsp chopped fresh tarragon leaves, 1 tbsp light soy sauce, sea salt and ground black pepper, 3 sheets puff pastry and 1 free-range egg.
