Jamie Oliver and Jimmy Doherty gives pullet eggs a new lease of life with farmdrop.co.uk on Jamie and Jimmy’s Friday Night Feast

Jamie Oliver and Jimmy Doherty took on another food fight this week giving pullet eggs a new lease of life with farmdrop.co.uk on Jamie and Jimmy’s Friday Night Feast.

However, these delicious tiny ‘pullet eggs’ that are not supplied by supermarkets because these are the eggs laid by young ‘pullet’ hens and up to a billion eggs a year are thrown on the scrapheap or sold for peanuts to be turned into to liquid or powdered egg.

But the little eggs are super tasty and, if Jamie and Jimmy can help find a market, they won’t be wasted and farmers’ livelihoods could be saved. The boys meet chicken farmers Susie and Danny in East Sussex who produce over 600,000 small eggs a year and are losing £60,000 in potential income.

To prove how tasty the eggs are, they got top Australian chef Bill Grange to serve up a range of dishes using these very small eggs for potential customer to try.
