On Sunday night’s results show the judges gave the coldest reception to an established act ever seen on The X Factor.
Making their X Factor debut, Jamiroquai performed their latest single ‘White Knuckle Ride’ but when they completed their performance the judges – Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue in particular – were far from impressed as the pair refusing to clap, let alone give the customary standing ovation normally given to established artist that appear on the show.
This reaction was apparently bought about as a result of the band’s front man – Jay Kay – interview with The Sun newspaper saying he wasn’t keen on performing on the programme or in front of the judges.
According to The Sun, the singer launched into a foul mouthed rant on Saturday, branding Cheryl and Dannii “f***ing useless”.
He added: “What are they going to tell me about f****** music?
“What the f***. When have you ever done anything? You’re useless. The pair of you. I mean you look great and I’d like to f****** s**g you but that’s all.”
Jay Kay continued: “I just don’t like the w**** stuff I have to do. F****** X Factor and that. I’m going to have to sing in front of f****** amateurs. Do you know what I mean?”
