Gino christmas crumble with amaretto custard recipe on Let’s Do Christmas with Gino and Mel

Gino makes Christmas crumble with amaretto custard for Warwick Davis on Let’s Do Christmas with Gino and Mel.

Gino make his crumble with two types of apples for extra flavour.

The ingredients are: 750g Bramley apples, peeled, cored and cut into 2cm dice, 250g Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and cut into 2cm dice, 40g butter, Juice and zest of 1 small orange, 175g demerara sugar, 1 tsp ground cinnamon, a pinch of ground cloves and 400g blackberries.

For the crumble: 225g plain flour, 175g salted butter, 55g demerara sugar, 75g rolled oats, 50g hazelnuts, roasted and roughly chopped, 10 amaretti biscuits.

For custard: 500m milk, 100ml double cream, 4 egg yolks, 30g caster sugar, 1 tbsp cornflour and 2 tbsp amaretto.
