Nigel Slater serves up lamb hotpot with barley and corn beef dish A Taste Of my Life.

The ingrediets are: 100g pot barley, 3 medium onions, 2 large celery stalks, 1 large parsnip, 2 carrots, 4-5 medium potatoes, 8 thick neck of lamb chops, a few sprigs of thyme and a few bay leaves, ½ tin corned beef, cut into thick chunks, white pepper, water or stock to cover, small handful of parsley and salt and freshly ground black pepper.
