Pressure is mounting on X Factor bosses to explain the decision to drop Gamu Nhengu from The X Factor during the judge’s house phase of the competition.

Viewers saw the final 12 X Factor acts chosen by the judges at the weekend – but fans of the show have reacted angrily to Cheryl Cole’s choices after she picked Katie Waissell – who she said was a “drama queen”- over Gamu Nhengu.

On Sunday night’s episode of the X Factor, viewers watched as Cheryl struggled to pick her top 3, finally opting to choose Rebecca Ferguson Cher Lloyd and Katie Waissell.

Her decision to select Katie appears to have sparked angry comments from viewers, who were stunned that Cheryl let Nigerian Gamu go, but kept “drama queen” Katie.

It has since been widely reported that the shows producers told Cheryl not to put Gamu through to the live finals on account of immigration issues. This has since been denied by an X Factor spokes person. The statement now leaves a lot X Factor fans still wondering why the very talented Gamu was not selected to go through to the next stage of the competition.
