Paul Hollywood’s Doughnut recipe helped Emma Freud to be named star baker on The Great Sports Relief Bake Off

Comedian Omid Djalili stepped into the hot seat to give support to the celebs on today’s episode of The Great British Bake Off that saw the co-founder of Comic Relief Emma Freud, crowned star baker.

Emma was joined in the tent by Olivier award-winning singer Michael Ball, singer and presenter Jamelia and Olympic gold-medallist Victoria Pendleton. They all gave up their time to help raise much needed funds for a worthwhile cause.

For the signature challenge Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood set the celebs the task of baking a traybake, for the technical challenge iced ring doughnuts to Paul Hollywood’s recipe and for the showstopper, a layered cake which must pay homage to their personal sporting heroes.

After another lively day in the Bake Off tent, it was Emma who won today’s Sport Relief Star Baker apron after baking her rose and almond tennis cake paying tribute to the bare bottom tennis girl.
