For the last technical challenge of the series, the finalists were tested with a Great British Bake off first, baking Pretzels. The last three contestants had to produce 6 savoury and 6 sweet pretzels.
This is one of Paul Hollywood’s most difficult recipes and it was chosen to test the contestants to their limits.
Shape and texture are all important. The pretzels must have a deep glossy coat and a dense chewy interior.
Once the pastry is proved, it must be shaped.
Place the pretzels into the boiling water for now more than 30 to 35 seconds.
