UK boyband One Direction have finally settled the dispute with an American band of the same name, it has been reported.

The US boyband threatened legal action against the UK X Factor group earlier this year, after they launched their career stateside and topped the charts with their debut album ‘Up All Night’ and single ‘What Makes You Beautiful’

The issue arose when the American band demanded that 1D stop using their name while they are in the United States, however a press release from both groups has revealed that they have settled the matter in a way which allows UK One Direction boyband to keep using their title.

Their American counterparts will now change their name to Uncharted Shores. The press release also states that both parties are pleased with the resolution.
