The second pair in the Battle Round sing-off on The Voice on Sunday night was Leanne Mitchell and Barbara Bryceland. And it was Leanne who immerged victorious and became the tenth contestant through to the live shows.
Sir Tom Jones pitched the pair against another, reasoning: “They’re both strong, so let them go head to head.”
In rehearsals, Sir Tom played on the tension between the pair as they practiced Lady Gaga hit Edge Of Glory.
He said: “It sounds great, the more you go at one another, the better.”
He added: “I think Lady Gaga would be scared to go into the ring with them too!”
Before going out on stage, Barbara quipped: “I can’t wait to get a cat fight going on that stage tonight, it’s time to take her out.”
After the performance, Sir Tom had a tough decision to make.
“They’re as strong as one another,” he told host Holly. “This is maybe the hardest thing that I have ever done. So, I’ll do my best. Well, it’s hard, but I think the one that should go to the live shows is Leanne.”
