Irish dance group Prodijig were crowned winners of Got To Dance 2012 in a gripping finale at the London Olympia.
Ten acts went head to head for a chance to win the £250,000 cash prize, but it was Prodijig who amazed the judges and viewers alike with their unique contemporary twist on traditional Irish dance.
On the night Prodijig said: “ We are over the moon. When Davina called out Prodijig’s name – we’ve never been so proud in our entire life. Thanks to all our friends and family, to everyone everywhere in the UK and Ireland that voted. We all can’t wait to go home and see our families.”
Of Prodijig’s winning performances the judges said:
Ashley Banjo: “That was disgustingly good. Look what you did to the 6,000 strong audience here tonight, everyone was on their feet. Incredible.”
Kimberly Wyatt: “You’re world class, you’re absolutely phenomenal. That was outstanding. You’re on another level. You are so crowd pleasing, it’s just brilliant.”
Adam Garcia: “I actually wasn’t sure what your limit could be, and I certainly don’t think you’ve reached it. You’ve surpassed yourself again and the level of excitement that you induce is so thrilling. It was just fantastic, you were amazing.”
Prodijig beat fellow finalists; A Team, Antics, Boadicea, Fear of the Unknown, Kazzum, Methods of Movement, Sweet Surprise, Tayluer and Elliott, Unity UK to lift the Got To Dance 2012 crown. Check out their performance below:
