Strictly Come Dancing contestant Rory Bremner has become the third celebrity to be eliminated from the show this year. The comedy impersonator, who partnered with Erin Boag, was axed after dancing for the fourth time last night.
Rory and Erin had scored 24 points out of 40 for their Cha-Cha-Cha during this week’s ballroom special, dancing to ‘Dance to the Music’ by Sly and the Family Stone. He found herself in the bottom two alongside Lawyer Nancy Dell’Olio and partner Anton du Beke, who had the lowest score of the night for their Paso Doble.
However, despite it being Nancy’s fourth week in a row at the bottom of the leader board, she managed to escape elimination when the judges’ scores were combined with the public vote.
Judge Len said: “I’m shocked, it wasn’t his best dance but it wasn’t a bad dance. I really, really don’t understand.”
After he heard the news of his fait, Rory stated: “Well a close second was shimmying next to John Prescott in the Quickstep, I loved that – it was just the best dance of my life. Thank you [Erin] for choreographing it, and thank you for dancing with me”.
And Erin added: “You’ve been completely and utterly wonderful – you’ve been so wonderful, and I want you to hold your head high, because you’ve done great”.
